Our Wedding Day

Happy 11th anniversary my chulo. What a great day that was. Our people came together; it was strange and miraculous to look around and see our loved one’s faces, from all the different parts of our life, in one room, supporting us. We were both walked down the isle by our parents (that was sooo special), and each of our fourteen siblings were our bridesmaids and groomsmen. We were in line in front of the church after you had gone in, waiting for the music to change so the siblings could start entering, and I remember all eleven of your brothers and sisters turned around to me and saying “Welcome to the family sister” with smiles and love in their hearts and I lost it. 🙂 The priest performed the ceremony in English and Spanish, that was super cool. We each did our vows in our native tongue, and we both cried (another Top Ten moment with you). And later at the reception to see our peeps mixing, trying to communicate/translate, and sharing in our happiness was a magical feeling I’ll never forget. Our two cultures, our different worlds, coexisted as easily and lovingly as we do. That meant a lot to me. YOU mean a lot to me. “I cross my heart, and promise to, give all I’ve got to give to make all your dreams come true. In all the world, you’ll never find, a love as true as mine.” I love you with my whole being honey, happy anniversary.
